Trademark is a form or sign which is used to differentiate a product, brand or service of one business entity from those of other business entities.  A trademark registration will grant an exclusive right to the use only to the owner or licensed to another party for use in return for payment.   In Bahrain, the trademark applications must be filed with the Directorate of Industrial Property of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain (MOIC). The validity for the registered trademark is 10 years and can be renewed indefinitely for further periods of 10 years. Documents required for a trademark application

  • A soft copy of the trademark in the form of a JPEG.
  • A Power of Attorney signed by the applicant of the trademark. It must be notarized by a Notary Public and legalized.
  • Certificate of incorporation of the applicant’s company
  • Certificate issued by the Registrar of Companies
  • Proof for the applicant’s company’s entry in the Commercial Register
